Kentucky Family Mission Trip

Are you looking for a summer family mission trip to serve others? This is your opportunity to travel nationally on a mission trip as a family to serve the least of these in Lynch, Kentucky from June 8-15. This trip is for the young and young at heart. Children ages 6-16 must have a parent or guardian on the journey with them. Students ages 17 to 18 may travel on their own with the signed permission of their parent or guardian and the approval of the Fellowship Student Pastor. Please know that although we call it a family mission trip...all are welcome to apply!

Your travel arrangements to and from Lynch, Kentucky can be by plane, train or automobile, or all of the above ... whatever works for you and your family! But you must be in Lynch, KY by 4:00 pm, Sunday, June 9th.

Want to travel as a group? There will be 15-passenger vans that leave on Saturday morning June 8th, and return by Saturday, June 15th. The van option includes an overnight stay at a hotel going and coming. Your travel cost to and from Lynch is part of your funds to be raised.

We ask that each participant raise the funds to cover the cost of their trip. We have tentatively calculated the trip cost to be $600/per person, but it is subject to change based on a final calculation by March 1st.

Why are we going? Our goal is to strengthen our host organization's relationship with the local community by doing good deeds which will build goodwill so that our hosting organization and we can share the VERY Good News of who Jesus is.

What will we be doing on this trip? We will partner with Moridzo Center, Inc which is a 21-year-old nonprofit that has strong ties to the local community. Likely we will have two overarching project themes:

1. We will be hosting the second Vacation Bible School at the apartment complex near Solomon's Porch Retreat Center where we will stay.
2. Various work projects will bless the ministry and/or their local families. Flexibility will be the key skill you will exercise.

Application guidelines:

• Individuals, couples, and families are all welcome to apply.
• Minor children, ages 6 - 16 must register under their guardian's application.
• Minor children 17-18 may register individually or on their guardian's application. 
• The trip cost is a tentative $600/ person and must be deposited before departure on the trip.
• We ask all participants to raise their trip funds rather than pay for the trip out of pocket. Why? When you trust God to provide the funds for your trip, you will be blessed and you will be inviting others to journey with you. We have a very good process for you to follow when raising your trip funds. We have never had anyone not raise their goal funds. 
• Completing an application does not guarantee acceptance to travel on the trip.
• If your application is accepted but you drop out of the team anytime before the trip departure date, any funds raised will be applied to the team cost. 
• We have 15 slots available, so the review and acceptance of applications will be considered in the order received.
