Trust in the Providence of God

I am a huge sports fan! I like watching and rooting for my teams. I, also, tend to become too caught up in the action and too emotionally invested in the outcome. Seriously, if my team loses, it can ruin my day. Silly – I know. But I love the back and forth of the game; the drama you feel with each baseball pitch or the building momentum in a football or basketball game.

I love watching my team win, especially when it is ALL on the line for the championship. I love the Houston Astros winning the World Series in 2017 – especially game 5, what a game! I love the Texas Longhorn 2005 national championship victory over USC – Vince Young running the ball in with time running down to put Texas ahead for good! I was a nervous wreck during those games, but I certainly relish in the victories.

From time to time, I will go back and watch one of those recorded games – already knowing the outcome. And when I know the outcome, I watch the game differently. I see Springer misplaying the ball hit to centerfield as the opportunity to be the hero the next inning instead of ruining the entire season for us
