The Unity Table was created to drive people towards Christ and community ... rather than causes.
It challenges us to be intentional about gathering with others who do not look like us; where questions can be asked, lessons can be learned and perspectives are broadened as we appreciate the special ways that God has created each of us. As a path to racial reconciliations and pursuit of justice, The Unity Table will allow you to have inward reflection and outward conversations with those around you.
So, how do we do this?
Make plans on the FIFTH Sunday (October 30) to share a meal with someone who does not look like you!
The Style of the Table: Family Style
It can be at your home, their home or even at a restaurant.
The Subject of the Table: Unity and Understanding
This is an intentional pursuit of unity, so listen, engage in dialogue and ask questions. It could be awkward, but pray for God to have His hand over your gathering.
The Spirit of the Table: Christ-centered vs Cause-centered
The goal is to establish a lifestyle or cross-ethnic conversations and relationships. Movements will come and go and headlines will change ... but the gospel is still the only thing that can change hearts.
